Meet the maker
I’m Jake, the maker behind JI Jewelry.
I’ve always liked making things, figuring out how things work, and taking an idea from nothing to something real. That’s a big part of what drew me to jewelry making. I enjoy the challenge of working with different materials, trying new ideas, and creating pieces that aren’t simply something you can pick off a shelf.
A lot of what I enjoy outside of jewelry has that same hands-on side to it. I love fishing, playing airsoft, drones, LEGO, and pretty much anything that lets me build, experiment, or learn something new. I also really enjoy entrepreneurship and the process of building JI Jewelry into something of my own.
One of my favorite parts of making custom jewelry is hearing the story behind a piece. Sometimes it starts with a wedding dress, a piece of wood, a guitar, a memorial item, or simply an idea someone has had in their head for years. I love figuring out how to turn those things into something someone can actually wear and keep.
What I believe
Faith is the part that shapes the rest.
My Christian faith is the most important part of who I am. It shapes the way I try to live, the way I treat people, and the way I run JI Jewelry.
I want this business to be one way that I share Jesus — through the way I work, the way I treat customers, and the things I create. I want JI Jewelry to reflect not only good craftsmanship, but honesty, care, integrity, and purpose.
I believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, according to my Christian faith and my understanding of Scripture.
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Matthew 19:4–6 · KJV
Custom work
Because I personally design and create custom pieces, I may decline a specific custom request when the engraving, wording, symbols, imagery, message, or other expressive content I’m being asked to create conflicts with my sincerely held Christian faith and beliefs.
How I work
